Thirty seven years of making things that go on the front of buildings
Barrett Group started in 1989 and has stayed in the same business since: making signs, boards and graphics, and putting them up ourselves.
What we actually are
We are a workshop in Mallusk with twelve vans. That is the whole business in one sentence, and it explains most of what makes us different from a print shop or a national franchise.
The vans mean we install our own work, so the person who quoted the job is accountable for how it looks on the wall. The workshop means a shop fit-out and its signage come from the same place on the same programme. And the routes mean a board in Ballymena is a scheduled visit rather than a special trip.
The estate agency side
We supply 140 estate agent branches across Northern Ireland, which makes us the largest estate agents supplier here. Branches order through our own system: order before 3.30pm and it goes out on the next day's run. The board goes up, changes to Sold, and gets lifted when the sale completes.
That grew out of doing it properly for a long time rather than out of any clever idea. Boards are a service business dressed up as a product business, and the service is vans, routes and someone answering the phone.

Signage, vehicle graphics and wrapping, shop fit-out and joinery, van racking and conversions, and LED displays. They exist because customers kept asking, and because the same workshop and the same crews can do them without a drop in standard.
How we work
- Every job starts with a survey, and the survey is free.
- We will tell you at survey stage if something will not work, or if you need advertisement consent, rather than after it is made.
- We install with our own crews. Nothing important is subcontracted.
- We hold your artwork, so the tenth van and the tenth branch match the first.
